This Ford Mustang Boss 302 Cross Boss intake manifold and Autolite 875 cfm in-line carburetor were originally designed to help Ford win the 1970 SCCA Trans-American Championship. A limited number of sets were made for Ford-backed race teams, with 100-300 more reportedly produced for use by privateers. The sand-cast aluminum intake manifold was reportedly acquired in 2011 from the estate of a family formerly involved in Trans Am and NASCAR, while the carburetor was acquired from the founder of Paradise Wheels in 2014. The setup has not been used by the seller and is now offered in Copenhagen, Denmark with a Cobra-branded coolant manifold, hoses, adjustment spares, extra gaskets, and a bill of sale.The Mustang Boss 302 appeared in the 1969 season of SCCA Trans-Am competition, and Autolite and Ford developed this in-line carburetor and cross-over manifold for the following year to improve fuel flow at lower RPMs. The throttle bore spacing is equal to that of the BOSS 302ci V8 in order to minimize travel of the fuel/air mixture.
