The thing holding this from getting a good score is the terrible controls. In the dungeon where you get the bow you have to navigate a pitfall maze. When the game repositions the movement stick each time you touch the screen it is very easy to make a mistake, and I found about half the time it stopped responding until I let it reposition again. I am sure this would not be a problem with a controller.

Games back then weren't always easy or intuitive to control, especially games that had static cameras and bad angles in sections. The control scheme added go the nostalgia while still giving it a bit of modern input style.

The idea where you as the player traverses the evolution of adventure games had begun, and how they ended up as. Now I do like the idea, but the game feels as if it's forcing itself to be more nostalgic at a technical point: high encouter rates, frustrating camera angles, insanely strong enemies, annoying collection mini games that drags the player away from that whole-hearted experience that most adventure games bring.
The game is fine, the controls are alright. Man.I feel really outside of my league on this one as I've only heard fragments but I'll take a crack at; just know I could be wrong and someone else may explain it better.It's because he's believed to be a metaphysical being. He is the origin and source of evil in the natural sense because he is the concept of evil. As such, concepts do not have sentience nor can diverge from their primary context no more than a program can do anything it's not programmed to do.
Therefore he can only do evil, cause chaos, etc because there is nothing else. SPOILER. Sorry, but no. I don't have specific evidence but I know it's there and that is that Rand feels the strain from wielding too much of the one power. One instance I know of off the top of my head is when LTT takes the power before Rand to kill the trollocs at the manor house ('my hands!' Afterwards LTT continues to draw and the description is very much the epitome of drawing too much.
He feels the strain, he's afraid, Logain makes a statement about it, etc etc.The Dragon is not god. LTT drew so much of the power that he went past the death point and drew more, but he was mad with grief and wanted it to end. Grief does strange things to those suffering. He would have died if he had stopped. If the Dragon had unlimited access these effects wouldn't exist. Also Rand channels the true power once and rejects it. In the end he does channel the true power through Moridin, the DO did not grant Rand this access Rand took it.
SPOILER. I think I put the staff a long the same lines as the female wand in terms of 'power boosting.' I think Callandor beats both just because it's the sword of prophecy, plus it lacks the buffer so more can be drawn than the other.I'm going to go super basic here so humor me. Let's say the staff/wand is 4x the amount of power unaided - just using a basic easy to understand math to explain my view, the math probably doesn't add up. Callandor with a buffer would be 5x. The Kal I put at about an 8x.
So the circle probably only really adds a +2 to Demandred giving him 6x. He's not cracking the world like an egg but clearly doing damage. 8x is the world cracking, Rand with no buffer callandor channeling all three powers would just be 30x?
- if I had to throw a number at it. I mean we are talking about completely changing reality here.If Rand completely destroyed himself Demandred would be very overwhelmed. Again just simple numbers to make my point. I think that difference of 6x probably only scratches the surface of what Rand did. SPOILER.
Lews Therin burning himself out.Yea he held so much power that he went past the point where he would have died had he tried to stop and still went beyond that to an unknown factor. Doesn't hold up to the others though as it was one person, unaided, non linked, one power source.
I give it the scale of a nuke or two. Rand/Nynaeve using the Choedan KalI would put this one at either a tie with 3 or above it.
What makes this so impressive is how long it went on for. Not really sure where to scale it but probably enough to easily destroy the world. Demandred's onslaught during Tarmon GaidonThey say the greatest achievements of the AoL were achieved by full circles working together. The problem is we don't really even have an inkling of what they really did with full circles which most likely included the terangreal.I don't even think Demandred was going full force either. Sure he was erasing entire sections of armies but really? That's all he was doing with it?
I imagine the kind of power he held would have done far worse damage. Granted he was trying to draw Rand out but I just think something so far up on the scale was so.weak in effect. Rand channeling Saidin/Saidar/The True Power through Moridin and CallandorI'm going with 4 on this one. I cannot imagine three sources of power used to reseal the DO as anything but absolutely immense. Plus I believe Rand would have had to drawn on every scrap of power to do so.
That's why Callandor was needed (might be wrong here, memory is no good) because it lacks the buffer from drawing too much. If all three powers going into it are enhanced.that level of power could only be incredible. Not destroy the world level of power, but absolute and total reality destroying power. SPOILER.
