Try using the alternate steam or browser version (which ever is not the one you are currently trying), every so often this works but I have a feeling this won't do it in your case.I'm going to be honest, this game is not super demanding compared to other games out there but due to it's lack of optimization it still sucks to play on a low end system and can be very frustrating. He was basically free kills to the opposing team on every match he played due to his extremely low frame rate. 
I had a friend who tried it on his old laptop and it proved unplayable for him. Definitely contact their support and give them the log of the problem.
