Dungeon Blitz Not Working
I found this discussion (link below), but like many people (some of whom have pointed it out here) this solution DOES NOT WORK for me. I get 'Exception Detected Gathering exception data This may take several minutes' as the error with a black screen.And I could wait 3 hours and still nothing would happen. I also get 'This program is not compatible' messages, which indicates that it has not been fixed or patched to any extent. I'm using the 'Xplosive' pack of 3 CDs published by guess who? Itseems suspicious that many Windows XP games work fine but the ones published by Microsoft do not work.

Isn't that a little bit backwards?You can make all kinds of apologist excuses like 'it's an old game and nobody cares' but if nobody cares, then why do people keep posting questions here and everywhere online? I think you're all just trying to shut us up. Maybe youthink I'm just a cheapskate. The fisher cats. I'm not just being cheap, I enjoy this game and want to play it again. It's like a song. Would you insist that I never listen to 'Sail Away' by Styx again just because it's old? I bought he game in good faith with good moneyand I expect it to work.
Really it will cost you a whopping hour of your development time to post a patch. I have no pity for that and yes, you can charge me for it (better yet, when you come out with a new version of windows, just make me pay for a 'gamemaint package' that covers your costs, like I said, I'm not cheap, I just like old games).If you decide to publish something, then you have a responsibility. But giving somebody something and then taking it away is a sure way to frustrate and annoy your users and make people angry. Therefore I feel no shame in being actually angry and frustrated,it's how I should feel in this situation. Only an unreasonable and illogical person would be satisfied with this.That said, if anyone has a different suggestion besides this one (because it doesn't work for me on Windows 7 and isn't adequate anyway because it doesn't stop the 'this game is not compatible' messages). Please do reply and make the suggestion.As stated, the above link leads to a 'fix' that doesn't work for me or another poster in that thread. Plus the 'compatible' messages are not gone for anyone no matter what you do. I do in fact have a Windows 95 laptop that I keep for just such emergencies.It's ridiculous to have to use it for this purpose but it seems like Microsoft prefers that I should do that instead of using Windows 7 or anything more modern.
